We’ll pull a star down when it shows up

first tonight,

stealing it for a moment, clutching it close,

whispering to it

our secret, then sending it back

to light up

the heavens as its moon glow fellows gather

curious to know

the private content of its charge.

THE CHOSEN

Do they see through
the invisible to the possible
as if swimming through perfect
clear Caribbean waters
teeming with bounty
circling in dancing twists
and twirls determined
to be seen?
