No Romeo and Juliet
Are they really in love or what? That is the question. I have labored over these two characters for a long time and the thrust of the story hinges on their deep, unwavering love, but, I'm just not feeling the love from these two. Maybe it is layered so deep beneath all the muck and mire of their lives that it still has not sufficiently surfaced, but, by now, (chapter 15) there should not be a question!
You know what that means. Back to character development. Obviously I have missed something very important. Maybe...naw! Surely not! Dang!

Well, at least you're not at chapter 15 & trying to force the emotions. You got this Girlie!
Thanks for the vote of confidence. It's looking better! I had forgotten a particular traumatic circumstance in his early romantic life that jaded him, but he hadn't. I needed to have my memory jarred so I keep things in prospective. Vulnerability is way down on his list of things to do even if he is already there! (LOL)
I don't know these particular characters but maybe they didn't know they were in love themselves until then...maybe they hinted to you all along. :)
You know you are probably right. Love and ambition pose conflict, but I anticipated its underlining pluse beat would have been more evident than it was when I wrote the post and perhaps it was... I was rushing things and this one refuses to be rushed.
Life unfolds in such away that way down the road, you wonder are you in love or not. Think of folks who after 20 years or more of marriage realize they are not love and probably never in love and just putting on a disillusioned image.
